Father’s Day is fast approaching. If you’re wondering what to get dear old dad and don’t want to resort to a boring tie or the predictable grill tool, try giving him a memory. Not sure what we mean? Keep reading.

Race Car Experience

Most dads like a little adventure now and then. Give him something he’ll remember forever with a Richard Petty Driving Experience. For about $100 he’ll get to suit up like a real NASCAR driver and take a spin around a professional track. Even though he’ll be in the passenger seat it’s an experience he’ll never forget.

Skydiving

Dad doesn’t have to jump out of a plane to get the feeling of skydiving. Give him an indoor skydiving session. There are several indoor skydiving operations around the country. For about $50 dad can feel like he’s free falling.

Spa Session

Chances are dad has never been pampered with a pedicure, massage or facial. Let him know what he’s been missing with a trip to a spa that specifically caters to men. There are man-spas all over the country and while your dad may not ever book an appointment for himself, he’ll likely be appreciative that you did it for him.

Baseball Tickets

Give dad a memory by taking him to a Major League game. Make sure to throw in some hot dogs, popcorn and foam fingers to make the event truly memorable.

National Park

The book is called Cheers to the New Mom!/Cheers to the New Dad!: Tips and Tricks to Help You Ace the First Months of Parenthood and was written by Jenna McCarthy, an internationally published writer.

One of the things I like the most about this book, besides the practical advice, is it’s innovative flip-cover design. It’s actually two books in one! The “dad” side is packed with the sort of advice fledgling fathers need (“Things not to ask your wife once the baby arrives: What’s for dinner? When do you think you might lose that weight? Why is s/he still crying? Did you wear those pajamas all day? What were we thinking?”). Also popular are the “happy parents make happy babies” tips on caring for yourself and your partner. The publishing date was 4/09 and it is already in bookstores nationwide; in fact, Barnes&Noble recently featured it on a special Mother’s Day display—and likely will do the same for father’s day.

There are some stores that are extremely popular for gift registries. The Story behind Fairytale Brownies

What I probably like the most is the story behind this business! Eileen Spitalny and David Kravetz (the co-Founders) have been friends since kindergarten; they went to school together. At an early age they decided they wanted to be successful entrepreneurs and start a business together. So, in 1992 Fairytale Brownies was born in a friend’s kitchen using a 50 year old family recipe.
