Today I’d like to share the touching story behind BeeWellWishes.com.

BeeWellWishes was launched a year after its owner went through a terrible ordeal! At the end of January 2007, she was told she had a benign Menigioma (the “good” type of brain tumor). The difficult part was that she was 8 months pregnant… so they had to wait till the baby was born! 6 weeks after the C-section, a surgery was scheduled for 6 hours… well, it lasted 8!

For the whole 8-month recovery, she received edible gifts and flowers almost daily. She had a feeding tube so she could not enjoy the edible goodies and her husband was allergic to flowers so they had to leave them on the porch. The only gift she could really enjoy were some pajamas! Practical and comfortable, it was probably the gift that best fit her recovery situation. After doing some research and not finding too many options on comfortable “recovery gifts”, the family decided to fill that void and founded “BeeWellWishes.com”. No doubt quite a few of you already know this, but one of the most relaxing past times I know of has nothing to do with watching football or boxing on television! Guys, if you really want to do yourself and your surroundings a world of good, do a little bit of gardening. Men and gardening go together like fingers in a glove and that’s why you should be — like I try to be – outfitted as efficiently as possible in order to get the most out of your gardening pursuits!

Now I realize that some of you out there are snickering right now. I mean really – the thought of men and gardening? Shouldn’t we be doing something a bit more physical like chopping wood? Trust me on this one, guys. Not only is gardening therapeutic (experts say putting your hands and fingers in dirt is actually very healthy) but as the country continues to “go green” you’ll relish the fact that you’re actually helping the environment while beautifying your surroundings.

With that in mind there is one item that never leaves my sight when I head into my back yard: my pruning sheers. Fortunately for you – you can find a good pair online!

Like a lot of men out there, there are a few things in life that I just GOTTA have, and one of them is a HOT SHOWER when I wake up in the morning. Take away my grill, deprive me of my fantasy of the Miami Dolphins once again winning the Super Bowl, but when it’s 4:30 in the morning and I’m shuffling from the bed to the bathroom, don’t yank my need for a hot shower out from under my feet.
